Het voornemen is om deze locatie in de toekomst te gebruiken voor het importeren van groene waterstof. In een recordtijd van 6\u00a0maanden is de terminal van plan tot realisatie gekomen. Sinds 15\u00a0september 2022 is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gasunie.nl\/projecten\/eemsenergyterminal\">EemsEnergyTerminal<\/a> (EET) operationeel.<\/p>\n<p>Vloeibaar aardgas wordt per schip naar de Eemshaven gebracht. De FSRU (Floating Storage Regassification unit) installatie zet het aardgas om van vloeibaar naar gasvormig. Wanneer dat eenmaal is gebeurd kan het gas getransporteerd worden via het bestaande gasleidingnetwerk. De naastgelegen energiecentrale van RWE levert tijdens de wintermaanden de benodigde restwarmte.<\/p>\n<p>Om deze plannen te realiseren is er door A.Hak Leidingbouw een nieuwe 24\u201d ondergrondse transportleiding aangelegd die de nieuwe drijvende installatie met het bestaande aardgasnet verbindt. Deze 3,5 kilometer lange leiding met bijbehorend schema is door TECCURO getest, gereinigd en op dauwpunt gedroogd.<\/p>\n<p>Al het bovengrondse leidingwerk met de bijbehorende utiliteiten is door Stork Nederland geconstrueerd. Dit waren o.a. aardgas-, zeewater-, glycol-, warm waterleidingen en cryogene leidingen. TECCURO heeft deze leidingen mogen testen en drogen en was onderdeel van het commissioningteam.
