Holland Hydrogen 1 (HH1) is a green hydrogen plant located in the port of Rotterdam (the Netherlands) and is being developed by Shell. The project aims to become the largest green hydrogen plant in Europe, with a capacity of 200 megawatts and an investment of more than one billion euros. The plant is powered by sustainable electricity from the Hollandse Kust Noord wind farm parc and produces green hydrogen on a daily basis, which is supplied to the Shell refinery in Pernis. This project is an important step in the energy transition and helps to make the industry more sustainable. (Source: www.shell.com)
At Teccuro, we are proud to contribute in the realization of this new hydrogen plant on behalf of Bilfinger.
Our contribution
Our experts carried out various specialist activities during the pre-commissioning of the new hydrogen pipeline which can be summerized as follows:
Cleaning & Hydrostatic testing: For optimal integrity.
UT inspection: baseline inspection for future reference
Drying & Dewatering: to a dew point of -20°
Nitrogen preservation: For a safer start-up and sustainable conservation.
A Project with Impact
Holland Hydrogen 1 will produce approximately 55 tonnes of green hydrogen daily from the end of 2026. This project accelerates the path to net-zero emissions and provides an answer to the need for clean energy in heavy industry and transport.
