Pressurizing systems with gas for strength and tightness testing is very dangerous. Only after evaluated all alternatives and risks it was decided to perform the pneumatic nitrogen test on a new build Metering and Pressure Regulating Station in Lithuania.
After setting the safety area and making sure that no people where in the line of fire, TECCURO, in corporation with PRS International, started slowly pressurizing the system until the final test pressure of 126,2 barg was reached. After a minimum holding period the pressure was decreased for the tightness test. Both tests where concluded as passed by the client after which the system was depressurize through a silencer.
